About The Experience:

 

Everybody loves a feast and a traditional Fijian feast that is cooked in the ground and wrapped in banana leaves is pure bliss and an experience that no traveller can afford to miss out on. This is an adventure full of mouth watering food, culture and a true authentic Fijian experience that rivals no other.

Begin with a traditional prayer and kava ceremony infused with history and gravitas around the ornate, communal bowl. Kava (Yaqona) is known to pleasantly relax you and is renowned for its ability to bring people together. Enjoy the Kava circle before your Lovo dinner is served to you with beautiful presentation.

Partake in slow cooked slabs of chicken, lamb, pork, fish, yams, cassava, and taro, and the famous polusami – a local dish that is a treat in itself.

The lovo will be slow cooked in its hot stoned, underground oven for 4-5 hours until the meat is tender and melts in your mouth. It will be accompanied with chutneys, Kokoda (traditional marinated raw fish) and salads. Wash it down with a beer and wedge of lime or your choice of beverage.

Delight in the live entertainment and full performance of the traditional Meke – an amazing traditional style dance that incorporates costume, song and movement to recreate stories of ancient Fijian. Performances by the women and by the warriors are a spectacular sight to behold and the highlight of any travellers vacation.Relish the interactive experience and soak up the atmosphere.

Finish up your night with a bonfire on the beach, surrounded by friends under the stars and truly make the most of a magical Fijian affair.
